Ciudad de Cunja

The ship's name, Ciudad de Cunja, and home port, Cartagena (Colombia) are painted on the side of this ship. It was loading general cargo for South America, at Pier 50 in San Francisco.

The two dockmen leaning on the wooden crates were waiting for the winchdriver, on the ship, to hoist the crates aboard ship.

If the cargo was inbound, they wouldn't be standing there. They would have been in the way of the liftdriver, who would have been taking the crates away.

I was standing out of the way with my clipboard and ballpoint pen, signing the paperwork.
