When I photograph out of doors, I often meditate on how a particular scene might have looked in the past, and might look in the future.  Landscape is by nature timeless, but there is movement in erosion, in reflections on water, and in the movement of a rising moon behind a tree that is no longer living.  The same principles apply to the urban landscape.
